Recently, the First Branch of Tianjin People’s Procuratorate filed a public prosecution with Tianjin No.1 Intermediate People’s Court.

       The First Branch of Tianjin People’s Procuratorate sued Sun Zhengcai for taking advantage of his position as Secretary of Shunyi District Committee of Beijing, Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal Committee, Secretary-General of Beijing Municipal Committee, Minister of Agriculture, Secretary of Jilin Provincial Committee of CPC, and Secretary of members of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chongqing Municipal Committee to seek benefits for others and illegally accept huge amounts of property from others. According to law, Sun Zhengcai should be investigated for criminal responsibility for accepting bribes.

       Sun Zhengcai’s "Falling Horse" Timetable:

       On July 14, 2017, according to the clues and evidence reflected by the patrol of the Central Leading Group for Inspection Work and the investigation and handling of cases by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, political and legal organs and reports from the masses, the central government decided to transfer Sun Zhengcai from the post of secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee, and the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection conducted disciplinary review and organized talks.

       On July 24th, 2017, Politburo meeting of the Chinese Communist Party decided that the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection would file a case for Sun Zhengcai.

       On September 29, 2017, the the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Conference reviewed and passed the Review Report on Sun Zhengcai’s Serious Violation of Discipline by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, and decided to give Sun Zhengcai the punishment of expelling from the Party and public office, and transfer his suspected crimes and clues to judicial organs for legal treatment.

       On December 11, 2017, the highest inspection news, a few days ago, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate decided to file an investigation and take compulsory measures against Sun Zhengcai, former member of the 18th the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and former secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Committee. The investigation of the case is in progress.

       After investigation, Sun Zhengcai shook his ideals and beliefs, abandoned the party’s purpose, lost his political stance, and seriously violated the party’s political discipline and rules; Seriously violating the eight central regulations and mass discipline, stressing ostentation and extravagance and engaging in privileges; Serious violation of organizational discipline, cronyism in selecting and employing people, and disclosure of organizational secrets; Seriously violating the discipline of honesty, using authority and influence to seek benefits for others, accepting huge amounts of property, seeking huge benefits for relatives’ business activities, and accepting valuable gifts; Serious violation of work discipline, serious bureaucracy and laziness; Serious violation of life discipline, corruption, and trading in power and sex. Among them, Sun Zhengcai used his power to seek benefits for others and accept property, which was suspected of committing a crime. During the review, Sun Zhengcai’s other suspected criminal clues were also found. Sun Zhengcai’s behavior completely deviated from the principle of party spirit, seriously violated the political requirements put forward by the CPC Central Committee for senior cadres, failed to live up to the trust of the CPC Central Committee and the expectations of the people, caused great damage to the cause of the party and the state, and had extremely bad social impact.
