The most worthwhile things to buy in Bali are local handicrafts, such as wood carving, stone carving and batik. If your wallet allows, you can also buy some works by local artists.
In Kuta, Denpasar, Nu Shadoa and other places, the price will be more expensive because of the large number of tourists. There are many villages in Bali that specialize in producing certain handicrafts, such as Mas and Sulu. Buying them in workshops is not only cheap, but also can witness the whole process of making these exquisite instruments. Ubud in Bali is the best place, and many handicrafts sold by shops in Kuta and other places are wholesale from here.
Special note:
1. You should bring enough cash to buy things in Bali. Most small shops with cheap prices do not accept credit cards, while the prices in large handicraft shops and duty-free shops are much more expensive.
2. Be careful that there are some artists near the tourist attractions who ask tourists for high prices and sell fake antiques.
